Avocado Toast Fingers for Little Ones

Ingredients
- 1/4 ripe avocado
- 1 slice soft bread (whole wheat or white)
- A tiny squeeze of lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
Gather your ingredients: avocado, bread, and lemon (if using).
If toasting, place the bread slice in a toaster.
Toast the bread lightly until it's just a bit firm, not crunchy. (About 1-2 minutes on a low setting).
Remove the toast from the toaster and let it cool slightly to avoid burning little fingers.
While the toast is cooling, mash the avocado in a small bowl using a fork until smooth and creamy.
If using lemon juice, add a tiny squeeze (just a few drops) to the mashed avocado and mix well. This helps prevent browning and adds a touch of flavor.
Spread the mashed avocado evenly over one side of the cooled toast, ensuring a generous layer.
Using a clean knife, carefully cut the avocado-covered toast into finger-sized strips. Aim for 4-5 strips.
Make sure the strips are easy for your little one to hold and gum.
Present the avocado toast fingers to your child on a clean plate or directly on their high chair tray.
Supervise your child closely while they eat, especially if they are new to toast. Watch for any signs of choking.
Encourage them to explore the textures and flavors of the avocado and toast.
Offer water or another drink to help them swallow if needed.
Store any leftover avocado toast fingers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. However, fresh is best!
